Learning Portuguese: Free online lessons and activities (6 November 2006)

Radio MPBR: Free Brazilian music combined with historical and cultural information, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and no commercials.

Self-Assessment Test: This is a quite innovative tool that will guide you to do a 15-minute self-evaluation of your level of knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese and culture.

BP Entrance Test: This is a one function exam that can be taken online and lasts approximately 30 minutes. This exam is intended to evaluate a student before he/she takes a Brazilian Portuguese language program. The results are given at the end.

Computerized Adaptive Test (CAT): This is the first test of its kind ever created for the Portuguese language. It is an objective test that lasts approximately 45 minutes, which can be taken in combination with the Self-Assessment Test. It is free to any accredited institution, but we charge for postage. Students at KU can take this test any time.

BP Exit Test: This is also a one function exam that can be taken online and lasts approximately 30 minutes. This exit exam is intended to evaluate a student after he/she has finished a Brazilian Portuguese language program. The results are also given at the end.

Weekly Events: Every week you will be acquainted with an important fact that changed Brazilian history or culture, and it will give you the chance to know a little bit more about the subject.

Slide Show: Three different slideshows which will give information about the beautiful city of Salvador, in Bahia; provide you with an insight of Brazil’s ethnicity and population, and also present an overview of this wonderful country.
